After years of trying different skincare products I’ve finally come to believe that less really is more. Gone are the days where I would buy the most high-end, complicated, chemical-filled skincare products just because I wanted to try something new. After dealing with the red patches and the pimples 50 times over, I can safely say that I’ve settled in my own skin and learned to stick with what suits me. I don’t know what it is about being vegan that makes you want to go au naturale all the time, but I’ve definitely embraced the “less is more” mantra and go for skincare products that have simple, natural ingredients.

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Viva! Vegan Festival in Wembley (Did you go?). There were over 200 stalls packed with vegan clothes, jewellery and beauty products. I was so inspired and I felt so lucky to be around such empowering people. Plus the food was to die for! I was wandering around, soaking in all the vegan goodness, when I stumbled across a little natural products stall by Heavenly Organics Skincare. I had a little chat with a staff member, who was super friendly and recommended some of their products to me. I was on the lookout for a natural exfoliator, and after testing out an array organic skincare products I decided I go for their very own Heavenly Organics Skincare Orange and Grapefruit Moisturising Facial Exfoliator.

Packaged in a cute autumnal looking jar, the exfoliator contains simple ingredients like sea salt, citrus peel and organic seed oil – all 100% natural! As soon as I opened the lid I could smell the fresh orange and sweet grapefruit, and that’s how I knew my face was going to feel, and smell, fabulous.

I scoop a good amount of the dry exfoliator out with my hands and start to exfoliate my damp face in circular motions, as instructed on the bottom of the jar. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to the ‘moisturising’ element of the exfoliator until I actually started to feel the effects. I find that exfoliators, especially ones with salt, tend to be quite drying, so to feel the moisturiser on my face was a lovely surprise!

Once I’m done I pat my face dry and use some of my LUSH 9-to-5 Cleanser to make sure I’m completely free of makeup and dirt, and I top that off with a layer of moisturiser. Even with the moisturising elements to the exfoliator my skin and lips still feel quite dry, so I always make sure I apply enough moisturiser and lip balm afterwards.

Overall I’m really impressed with the simpleness of this exfoliator. My skin always feels super clean and uplifted after every use. I’m so glad that I found Heavenly Organics Skincare, and I’d absolutely love to try more of their products in the future. I’ve already got a few products in mind for cruelty-free Christmas gifts – they have a huge range of products ranging from beard oils to lip balms!

I was so happy with this brand that I just couldn’t wait to share my exfoliator review with you! Have you tried Heavenly Organics Skincare before? What did you think?

Thanks for reading!
